LA 403 Spring 2025: Santa Barbara Park
For spring 2025, LA 403 students with Daniel Kletzing developed designs for a sports complex, children’s garden, and walking trails for a west side Santa Barbara Park. Students considered reuse of a water reservoir, preservation of existing oak groves, and fire resilient landscaping. Students discussed the site with the Assistant Parks Director and Parks Manager. For the final review, students presented to staff in downtown Santa Barbara: the City Parks Director, Assistant Director, Parks Manager, Capital Improvements Manager, and community development planners.
